Our hosting is Linux based, meaning you can run Wordpress and PHP websites. We currently do not offer Windows hosting packages.
Do you offer a free trial?
No, we don't for our web hosting, but you're free to cancel at any time.
What is cloud hosting?
Our cloud hosting means you don't share your resources with other accounts. You get dedicated resources in your own hosting environment such as dedicated memory and CPU allocation.
Is my data safe and secure?
Yes, without a doubt! We protect your site at our secure hosting facility in Manchester UK with a 99.99% average uptime. Your data is backed up every 24 hours, and we only run our services on highly redundant server architecture.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes, you can either purchase a domain name through us, or alternatively use any major domain registrar. We will then help you get it pointing to your new hosting account.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No never, InstantHost is contract free, meaning you can cancel at any time - with no notice period. The only thing is we don't offer any refunds, so if you do cancel a few days into a new payment period, you may loose the value of the remainder you paid.
When do you bill my card?
All payments are processed on the 10th or 20th of each calendar month. Invoices are raised on an anniversary basis.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard
Can I use a subdomain for my hosting?
Yes, all hosting accounts come witha free InstantHost subdomain, this means you can get up and running within minutes.
Can I purchase my own SSL certificate?
Yes, certainly, you can purchase one from us, or a third party. SSL certificates can be setup by our hosting specialists or you can install one via your Cpanel control opanel.
How much bandwidth do I get?
Each of our three packages comes with 25GB all the way to Unlimited Bandwidth, suitable for power hungry websites.
What is SAS Raid 10 storage?
SAS is the highest grade of mechanical hard drive, especially designed for Enterprise servers. Raid 10 is a configuration of 4 hard drives running as one - this allows upto 2 failures before a critical status is reached.
What is a concurrent connection?
Concurrent connections are the number of simultaneous data connections you can have to your website at any one time. You typically need 2000-4000 visits a day to reach this number. Even when you see 20+ active users live on your website, this does not mean that each user is making a data request at exactly the same time as every other user..
What support do you offer?
We offer 24/7 support via our ticket support system, and telephone support from 9:30am to 5:30pm Monday - Friday GMT.
Do you have a dedicated knowledge base?
Yes, we have a knowledge base with hints and tips, as well as links to cPanel articles to help you administrate your hosting.
